Shooter's
accomplishments are impressive and record-setting:
- He was the first UKC Grand Champion
Labrador (June '00)
- He was the first Lab to be ranked #1 in Top
Ten (1999)
- He was the first Lab to win the Top Ten BOB
award (June '00 for 1999)
- He is the ONLY Lab to win the Top Ten BOB
award three times consecutively!
Shooter retired from
the show ring, earning more than 30 Best of Breed awards
between AKC and UKC shows.
Shooter
enjoyed his days being the "senior" family member;
introducing new four-legged family members to the household and
enjoying each duck hunting season with us.
We layed Shooter to
rest on February 13, 2010. Just over 13 years of age,
Shooter was suffering from cancer in one of his rear legs that
rendered him able to only use 3 legs. He was a trooper;
while he was hurting on a daily basis, he rallied to spend time
with us, longing for just one more turn on the couch with Steve
for TV night.
Rest well, our
tired friend, until we meet again...
